This contest was created not only to celebrate Indian talent but also to honor the legacy of the late John Anthony — a legendary guitarist, global performer, and educator, with over 2,500 film soundtracks to his credit. Known for collaborations with greats like L. Shankar, Sivamani, and A.R. Rahman, John Anthony’s influence continues to inspire generations of guitarists.

About the Contest

The contest is structured to be transparent, fair, and entirely merit-based, with three stages of evaluation:

1. Submissions
Contestants submit a 2-minute unedited performance video (via YouTube link) to www.lazieindie.com

2. Voting Rounds

• Local voting – 30 days via our website voting platform

• Global voting – 30 days, powered by our Lazie Indie Community across 124 countries, 

• 6,000–7,000 unique voters per edition, largely comprising musicians, guitar students, and music fans (this is the base so far,  aiming to expand this base this year) Also planning to make it an international contest in the coming year as we do have good global reach. 

3. Final Judging
Top performers are evaluated by a prestigious panel of international guitar legends:
